Zheya Yu

Dr. Zheya Yu(俞哲亚),MD

Dr. Yu is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She completed her fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Since then, she has been practicing child, adolescent and adult psychiatry at Pennsylvania Hospital. Dr. Yu is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Yu was a consulting Psychiatrist at Mill Creek School, a private high school in Philadelphia for 2 years.

Dr. Yu has dedicated herself to the field of Asian mental health. She served on the Diversity and Culture committee of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) for the past 8 years, advocating for the mental health issues of Asian immigrants. She presented topics about mental health issues of East Asian children at national conferences. She also published articles and a book chapter on mental health issues, especially suicide, among East Asian adolescents. Locally, Dr. Yu has been helping high school counselors dealing with Asian students (domestic and international) with mental health issues. She has also given lectures on mental health/wellness to local Chinese high school students and church members.

Dr. Yu graduated from Tongji Medical University. She is bilingual in English and Mandarin.
